On 1 March 1924, Ludwig Frederich Will founded a pharmaceutical company in Amsterdam, and his ambition to improve patient well-being has since been passed on from generation to generation. Now, nearly 100 years later, Will Pharma has grown into a pharmaceutical company that makes a significant contribution to improving healthcare, with knowledge of and compassion for local healthcare markets. We have our eyes set on the future, looking forward, focused squarely on improving health in the future.

1924 L.F. WILL & CIE Netherlands
Will & Co was founded by Ludwig Frederich Will in 1924 as small, two-man company headquartered on Amsterdam’s prestigious Herengracht. The company, which initially only traded in chemicals, was expanded some time later with a pharmaceutical branch.

1935 L.F. WILL & CIE BELGIUM
As the company continued to grow, more opportunities for expansion arose. Belgium has always been dear to the Will family, so the choice was not a difficult one to make. In 1935, the family business added its first branch in Belgium.

1947 WILL PHARMA NETHERLANDS
The Second World War left its mark. By selling its stores of saccharin tablets in a time that sugar was scarce, the company managed to survive. The perseverance and entrepreneurial spirit of Maurice Will enabled to the company to live another day, seizing new chances and opportunities and continuing under the name Will Pharma.

1960 WILL PHARMA BELGIUM
In the 1950s and 60s, the economy picked up and many new opportunities arose. With Will Pharma experiencing significant growth, it decided to also open a Belgian branch for its pharmaceutical activities.

1960 Moving to Zwanenburg
With this new focus on medicines, the company needed more space to meet local healthcare needs, building new offices and a warehouse on the outskirts of Amsterdam, in Zwanenburg, where there was plenty of space to build a new facility with plenty of storage space.

2012 NEW WAREHOUSE IN WAVRE, BELGIUM
The new warehouse in Wavre replaced the previous warehouse and spans a total of 2500 sq.m., with its design and technical innovations allowing us to supply pharmacies and drugstores faster and more efficiently.

Present
Will Pharma has remained a family company since the day it was founded. Sustainable, long-term cooperation is foundational to all our partnerships in the healthcare industry, with the aim of continuing to improve the health of many patients, now and in the future. Together with our partners, we have recently launched our own VR rehabilitation programme.
